An app security profile (sometimes called a policy profile) is a collection of settings. When you enable policies and customize settings, you save your choices as an app security profile, and then integrate the app with that profile.

This provides an easy way to secure multiple apps within your organization with the same policies. That is, to apply the same settings to several apps, you can save those settings as one app security profile, then apply the profile to each of your apps.

There are two paths to create app security profiles in the administration platform interface:

  • On the Policies page, add or edit an app security profile, then enable and configure individual policies.
  • From a mobile app card on the Mobile Apps page, Integrate > Integration Options dialog, create a new profile, then enable and configure individual policies.

App security profiles do not include signing profiles. Use a signing profile to specify the app-signing parameters. Unlike an app security profile, which is a collection of settings that are applied to integrate an app with security, a signing profile is a collection of code signing parameters. These parameters are different for iOS and Android signing. See Using and configuring signing profiles for details.

Creating an app security profile

To create an app security profile, enable the individual policies and configure the associated settings.

For more information, see the configuration documentation for your integration accelerator(s).

Click Policies > Create New App Security Profile. A Create New App Security Profile dialog appears. Enter a name for the new profile and click New Profile. (You can change the name later.)

The Policies page for your new profile appears. On this page, select the card for each policy group that contains a policy you want to configure. (If there is only one policy group, it is automatically expanded.)

Enable the individual policies that you want to use, and choose the options for each one.

When you are done configuring the app security profile, click Save changes. This profile is now available to use with any app by any user in your organization.

Editing an app security profile

Click Policies and find the profile to edit. A profile details page appears.

On the profile details page for your existing profile, select the card for each policy group that contains a policy you want to configure.

Edit the individual policy settings and click Save changes.

Note that the version number for the app security profile changes to a new version number.
