Getting started using the console

To protect an app with Blue Cedar security policies, administrators:

• Upload the app to the console.
• Select and apply the policies.
• Download the secured app and sign it.
• Upload the secured app to an app store. 

Users can then download the protected app. The following sections cover the details for each of these steps.

After setting up the first version of the app, update it by applying different policies or by securing a new version of the app.

This documentation provides examples for securing an app with the policy console web interface and the REST API. If you are using your own tools or third-party tools to secure an app, use the REST API to perform the same tasks.

Procedural topics in this documentation specify UI (for the web interface) or API (for the REST API). Concepts may apply to both methods of using the policy console.
