Applying security policies

A policy profile is a collection of settings that can be applied with an individual policy. A master policy profile is a collection of policy profiles. This provides an easy way to secure multiple apps within your organization with the same policies in one easy step. For example, if you want to apply the same App Customization themes, the same Secure Microtunnel settings, and the same Device Posture settings to several apps, you can save those profiles as one master profile, then apply the master profile to each of your apps.

When you secure an app, you can apply one security policy at a time or you can apply a master policy.

Applying one policy at a time

From the App details page, under Policies to apply, identify the policies you want.

For any policy, click the settings gear to go to the Policy details page. There, you can create a new policy profile or edit an existing policy profile.  See Blue Cedar security policies for descriptions of each policy and its profile options.

Return to the App details page.

Under Policies to apply, click the triangle to expand the policy panel.

Click the checkbox to enable the policy, and choose the policy profile from the profile menu. Repeat for the policies you want to apply. (Or use a master policy profile.)

Proceed with signing options. See Signing Blue Cedar secured apps.

Click Apply Policies.

Applying a collection of policy profiles as a master policy

There are two paths to the master policy details page:

  • From the App details page, under Select a master policy, click the settings gear to go to the Policy details page.
  • From the Policies tab, click the Master Policy tab.

Create a new master profile or edit an existing master profile. See Master policy profiles for details about creating a collection of individual policies.

Click Apps, then Android or iOS, then the app you want to secure. The App details screen appears.

Under Select a master policy, click the triangle to expand the Master panel.

Select "Enable Master policy." Enabling the Master policy disables the individual policies listed below "Policies to apply."

Choose the Master profile from the menu.

Proceed with signing options. See  Signing Blue Cedar secured apps.

Click Apply Policies.
