App concepts

The mobile app is the basic unit of understanding for the Blue Cedar model. Everything within the Blue Cedar Platform revolves around apps and App Folders. Each app needs a workflow to migrate it along the various deployment steps.

In general terms, an “app” refers to a binary executable file that mobile users can download from an app store. However, an “App” on the Blue Cedar Platform is a lot more than that. The Blue Cedar App Folder is a container that groups numerous versions of imported app binaries together with an associated Blue Cedar Workflow. There is a 1:1 relationship between each Blue Cedar App Folder and its associated workflow. A new workflow requires that you create a new App Folder.
